We've All Seen Things In Our House.

Two years ago, I wrote this story, which is a humorous story, but here is a fact:

It is a true story

Many of you would think we are crazy.

There are many people who do not believe in ghosts, while many others do.

I learned that people do not believe in things that seem unreal until they have seen them for themselves. I sat among non-believers myself, until I encountered one in a flat I was staying in that was rumoured to be haunted by the girl who died in a fire there. My husband also thought I was crazy until he witnessed it himself one night, when he stayed with me.

When we first moved into our family home, we loved its original 1940s layout, even though decorating and moving furniture proved to be a real challenge.

We have had a lot of happy times here, though nighttimes can be really chilling.

We have heard things being thrown around in the small computer room, adjacent to our living room, taps turning on and off, people moving around, and many other noises that never made sense, because these always occurred when everyone was sleeping.

There have been nights when we have both been awake in our beds with the lights off, when we have witnessed human-shaped shadows moving around the room.

We've had these shadows come over to us and make strange noises, and we have been able to just make out they are two males and two females.

When my grandchildren lived here with us, they often got out of bed and stood on the landing, scared to go back to bed. They have often spoken of someone being in their room, and there have been nights, we have heard them talking to someone who wasn't there.

The children were often awake at these times, so they definitely weren't 'just bad dreams.'

I've come downstairs to find the lights and television on in the lounge before, even though I knew they had been turned off before we went to bed, and I've seen something being thrown across a room, even though nobody has touched it.

The thing is, people only believe what they have seen with the human eye, themselves. However, some people can go through their entire lives without seeing ghosts or spirits, and those are the people who believe that because they haven't witnessed the events, they can't be real.

Many people will get to meet at least one famous person in their lifetime, though not everyone will have the same experience.

This does not mean they do not exist; it means that some people are luckier than others.

I decided to allow some people to stay over when I lived in the flat. There were I, my husband, and two friends. We all stayed together so we could witness the experience.

And, we did witness it.

We saw a new vase crack without being touched, we heard someone calling for help in the same room, though no one was there, and we saw the silhouette of a female.

We tried the same experiment in my house after I moved back in with my husband.

They witnessed similar things to us during the night. One even woke up terrified, because he saw one of the figures, whom he described as a soldier.

We still witness these events on a regular basis, but you wouldn't believe it unless you lived here, because there are some cases where seeing is really believing.

However, that is a problem, too.

What we witness from the supernatural world isn't always visible to the human eye.
