Marilyn Glover is a single mom of 3 daughters and one son. She also has two grandsons. She practices Reiki and loves nature. Her current project is her poetry book. She has been a creator on Vocal for five years. She has written over 300 stories on Vocal with 9753 reads so far.

Mariann: How did you get into writing?

Marilyn: I started writing online, here on Vocal, in 2020. I was living in isolation during the Pandemic after having my spleen removed and wanted to find something to do. I discovered Vocal Media through a Google search and remembered how much I liked writing when I was a little girl.

Mariann: What do you like about Vocal?

Marilyn: I like that it's a great place for both beginner and seasoned writers. The challenges have helped me step outside my comfort zone, and the writing community has been a Godsend.

Fun Facts: Marilyn have 19 Top Stories and 11 Achievements on Vocal.

Mariann: What is your favorite genre that you write about?

Marilyn: Poetry has always been and will always be my first love of writing.

Mariann: How do you fit your writing into your daily schedule?

Marilyn: I usually write in the morning upon waking. I am an early morning riser, so this has become my daily routine.

Mariann: Describe your writing space?

Marilyn: I have an office in my apartment, which doubles as my meditation room. It's a peaceful place with crystals, metaphysical references, and my vision board.

Mariann: What is your goal in writing your poetry book?

Marilyn: My writing goal is to publish a poetry book based on Carl Jung's teachings to expand the human mindset & promote spiritual growth.

Although I plan to publish the full book by year's end, I will release a 25-page chapbook before then. I am building my own website today and recently started using Pinterest to promote my work.

On my Vocal profile page, I have a link to my new Medium publication, The Quiet Collective, which brings together my love for spirituality and humanity.

Mariann: What features would you like Vocal to add to its platform, and why?

Marilyn: I would like to see Vocal Media update its editor. It's long overdue for a makeover. More formatting options would be fantastic. I am not a fan of the line spacing, especially for poetry.

Mariann: Where did you live most of your life?

Marilyn: I spent almost an equal amount of time living in Massachusetts and New York. I came to the States when I was 3.

My father is from Massachusetts, specifically Berkshire County, and my mom was born at Walls End on the Tyne, Newcastle.

Fun Fact: Marilyn has dual citizenship, American/ British. The last time she was in the UK , she was 12 years old.

Mariann: What word best describes you, and why?

Marilyn: Lightworker- because I know I am here to help uplift humanity. Based on all of my past struggles and how I made it through, even when the odds were stacked against me. Although not religious, my devotion to spirituality has often grounded me and helped pave a new road ahead. Writing is my contribution to a world that needs as many healers and beacons of light as it can get. Writing to uplift humanity is my chosen catchphrase, and poetry is my chosen genre. Inspiration comes from experiences with nature, spirituality, psychology, and metaphysics, all of which contribute to my art.

Exclusive information, her story “Longing Landline” will be featured in her poetry book.

I hope you enjoy this interview.

Dear Mc & Mg - I enjoyed knowing more about you, Marilyn. Although I'm not a poet and certainly know it, nor have I entered contests. But I've followed your unique way of delivery within all that you do. Mariann, thank you for all that you do to introduce us to the Vocal Village. My favorite was you with Doc Sherwood; what a character. Best, Jay Kantor, Chatsworth, California

Marilyn's office I agree is spectacular. It was great to learn more about her, and her goals. We have connected just recently, and it is good to know how many Top Stories she has, it is something to strive for. We both are from the East Coast, and that we have in common. Great interview Marianne. Good to get to know now Marilyn better.
