Dr. Dre Is Officially A Billionaire
Forbes recently updated its list of the richest people in the world, and for the first time ever, Dr. Dre is on it.

Finally, the top rapper/producer joins the triple comma club. Congratulations to Dr. Dre for putting in the work for close to five decades. He’s fostered the careers of the biggest artists ever including being part of NWA and showcasing Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, and 50 Cent.
On this long road to ten figures, Dre has been one of the best artists to ever grace hip hop in his own right. He’s been able to direct his life to greater heights.
With his incredible talent and a mind for creativity, Dre diversified by selling Beats products. Earlier years had him pegged as one of the billionaires but he never fully attained status until now.
In an era where he could have been a mediocre beatmaker, he always upped his skills as a production maker and the best producer rapper of all time. But what does this say about the decabillionaires and centibillionaires?

Do they just laugh at the “baby billionaire”? That’s where we are as a society. Those who have yet to achieve their status must be looked at as lesser not just monetarily, but with the idea that they somehow have not produced enough to be within their reach.
Is this healthy? I think so. The greediness is what propels the spirit of competition. That’s the power of the dollar. Common once asked, "Am I rapping “for the art or for the dough?” Where this comes into focus is with the notion that Dr. Dre deserves to reap the benefits of his efforts.
In the time he has become an instrumental element in the world of music and electronics, this icon has displayed a consistency that has been unrivaled.
When it is time to look at the monuments of rap, Dr. Dre’s face must be etched into ebony. When he makes for himself to be a definite living legend, he holds these billions as one of the last people of his generation and in his inner sanctum who have been lost in life or in the corrections system. Tupac is dead. Suge Knight’s behind bars. Dre is just a fortunate (not lucky) individual who made a way for him to be a billionaire.

Karma should not be viewed mystically. For the most part, what you put out into the universe comes back to you based on your words and actions.
Dre has been able to pivot, drive, and slam his way to the ballgame of hip hop and R&B. Though he has been accused of domestic violence, he has persevered through all the criticism and allegations. Never mind the idea that most of his discography is based on samples (extremely common in hip hop, by the way) he might have been a billionaire quicker if he didn’t have to clear the samples.
But it is clear that he has touched lives and continued to reign supreme over his peers. He has been able to push the boundaries of sound and technology. With his partnership with Jimmy Iovine he skyrocketed into the stratosphere based on that connection and his undeniable capacity to know what is true. When it comes to the right decibels and the perfect levels it is perfect to say that he has B because he decided to go the clean route and convey positivity.
He’s like the president in this regard that he is a BB. If he continues to work he can surpass others within his sights. As this is a major accolade for the “Forgot about Dre” rapper, he should show no signs of yielding.
This is the beauty of the free market. Whatever elements in this semi-capitalist nation, the United States of America, still allows people who put in the most work to succeed with excellent rewards. The amount of people who have been able to earn billions in the US is a testament to the greatness of this country. It shows that people can rise from virtually nothing and reach for the mountains of money that they built themselves.
The entrepreneurial spirit remains intact.
