You're alone, because you're lost

An article about how being alone strengthens you <3

The calm and peace when you accept being alone isn't so bad.

Being alone is a fear that one in three adults face WORLDWIDE. Why? Are we scared to be alone because we are faced with all of our thoughts we once tried to suppress? Or are we scared because we feel uncomfortable? Uncomfortable with the idea of being in a room with just you. You and your nasty thoughts. Thoughts like “Damn I should've apologized”, or “Why hasn't he texted me back?” or “I am a failure”. Yea. those thoughts. The forbidden thoughts that come sneak by the midnight hour, ...if you're lucky. You see loneliness doesn't have to be this way. It all starts with you.

When you get the opportunity to be alone. And I mean REALLY alone. Take that time. Don't stay for too long, or else you'll be overspending your stay. If you feel like you lost yourself, and you finally take that moment to realize it, celebrate. You just started the beginning of your new era. I swear once we notice we have lost our soul, 9 times outta 10 we try our very best to get it back. We start doing things we never thought about doing, like cooking classes, pottery classes, just any classes… one time I took a voice acting class after a break up… that's a different story. The point is we start searching everywhere for pieces of our soul, thinking slowly we will collect all the pieces, and put it all together like a tiny puzzle needing to be solved, but do you want to know the truth? To me, you're rushing. You're being impulsive. Sure it'll work as a temporary fix. But not as long term as it could be.

All you need is a pen and paper or just the notes app on your phone (pen and paper is preferred but to each there own)

Write on this paper, "Who am I?" (or write your first and last name for best results). Stare at this sentence for as long as you can. Think about how this is making you feel? What rushes your mind? Grab your pencil, and start scribbling your thoughts, try to write without taking a break to really get all your ideas jotted down. So who are you? Did you mainly write negative thoughts about yourself? if you did, try again, because this new you does not need to be "reminded" of all the cons about you, they want to know "What is so great about ME!!". You my friend are great, own up to it, admire you. If you are alone, you are all you got. Why hate the one person who has been by your side since day one? You know what you love, you know what you hate, you know yourself better than anyone on this planet. So show yourself some respect.

Seems like such an easy task almost too easy. "You want me to write in order to find myself? pfft sounds dumb". Well if you want to be alone and sad, you can stay in the storm, but if you rather be alone, and at peace the storm will pass the moment you move. sure this activity isn't going to solve your problems, but I always say, if you at least know who you are, you've just put gas in your vehicle to your next destination.

Thank you so much for reading this, This is my first work I have published on here, something in my heart told me to share this, maybe someone out there really needed this,
