Thank you, oh thank you Friday.
You allow a breath of relief at the end of the week.
Even when waking up in the morning, you make the usual slog bearable.
Because we know that two days of freedom are coming.
Two days of getting to relax into our own lives.
As the song says, “everybody’s working for the weekend.”
Everybody’s working for the time to finally be what we will.

I no longer work yet appreciate the American 9-5 grind theme. I was a hospice nurse so I never truly saw a weekend quite the same way. Americans are over-worked and a majority underpaid. May your weekend be truly relaxing and enjoyable.
