when i’m away

from my computer

and my phone

is right out of reach

and not a biro or scrap of paper

anywhere to be seen

i’m completely bereft

of any type

of recording media at all

it didn’t happen this time

i was just across the room

my mind was clear

and my memory

behaved just as it should

i can think

when i don’t

it just goes
