Blossom
The Petal Winged Fairy

✿⋆˚。⋆୨୧˚✿˚୨୧⋆。˚⋆✿
She drifts through meadows soft with dew
her gown a swirl of petal light
She wakes the buds with whispered hues
and stirs the world from winter's night
✿⋆˚。⋆୨୧˚✿˚୨୧⋆。˚⋆✿
She scatters pink in cherry blooms
and paints the sky in robin blue
Her laughter rings through greening woods
where every leaf begins anew
✿⋆˚。⋆୨୧˚✿˚୨୧⋆。˚⋆✿
She twirls where crocus lanterns rise
their violet flames along her path
Her touch unravels winter's frost
and melts it into silver bath
✿⋆˚。⋆୨୧˚✿˚୨୧⋆。˚⋆✿
She hums a tune of warming earth
a song that stirs the sleeping seeds
And soon the fields erupt in bloom
to answer all her gentle needs
✿⋆˚。⋆୨୧˚✿˚୨୧⋆。˚⋆✿
She leaves a circle soft and small
of tiny blooms in pearly white
A whispered mark of where she danced
beneath the moon's forgiving light
✿⋆˚。⋆୨୧˚✿˚୨୧⋆。˚⋆✿
But whispers drift from distant hills
A hush of rain on budding trees
For Spring must share her tender reign
With Summer's slow advancing breeze
✿⋆˚。⋆୨୧˚✿˚୨୧⋆。˚⋆✿
Yet Blossom smiles, her work complete
the world reborn in vibrant gleam
She bows beneath the warming sun
and drifts into a fragrant dream
✿⋆˚。⋆୨୧˚✿˚୨୧⋆。˚⋆✿
Authors Note:
This poem was inspired by two things. First, I came across that fairy circle in my yard and immediately needed to take a picture because how stinkin cute?!
But after that, I remembered another poem I wrote for one of the challenges on Vocal. I loved writing it. I had never written a poem about fairies before but I have always loved them so much. After writing that, someone said I should write a book about fairies...
I didn't think too much about it because I already had and still have so many projects going on. But when I took that picture, this started taking shape in my head... so who knows? Maybe this will be a full series of little nature fairies!

Here is the other poem I wrote if you'd like to read it:
About the Creator

I love Ugly Things.
I try and be active AND interactive.
I write... whatever I feel.
Sometimes it's happy.. sometimes it isn't. But it's real. And it's me.

🌼I really like the decorative divide between your stanzas. It makes me feel like spring is here even while I am freezing in my room! 🌼Your use of Synesthesia makes her voice sound like magic that brings life to the buds through "whispered hues." I also found your use of Enallage in the phrase "robin blue" to be very effective. It scatters the work of the bird into the color of the sky. This gave me actual goosebumps that brightened my visage and made me pause. Truly beautiful work Sara! 🤗🌼
Write it… write it… write it 👏🏼
This actually made me feel like I was standing right in that meadow watching everything bloom. The way you described the "crocus lanterns" and "silver bath" is so vivid that it honestly felt like a little mental vacation. You should definitely go for the series because these fairy vibes are exactly what the world needs right now.
What a great poem, Sara. Full of lovely, gentle thoughts that conjure up such great images. Surely the fairy circle must be an omen or good luck at least.
Omggg, that circle reminded me of Imola's Veilwood series! It would be so cool if you too make a series out of this. Loved your photo and poem!
Nice, and great idea!💜
Gorgeously-penned! 🫶🏾
