Buttered Stained Glass

on love that survives the looking glass

By Michele NampalliPublished about 2 hours ago 1 min read

I closed my eyes on these nights

when the rain drowns out

the void, metronome

pelting deep

with a pen in my hand

I dream of your face through a looking glass

the way the curve of your lips draws out the sun's rays

bright melted butter

soft smile lines etched, original to you

eyes ablaze

a buzzing secret we’re both in on

Argentine tango on clouds

too alive

you notice me

and grab my hand

weaving into the spaces

between fingers

as our eyes meet in the present

holding right h e r e

hovering over multiple timelines

where we are together

***

the ocean breeze brushes past

planting a salty kiss on my cheek

***

nothing has changed

in memory

About the Creator

Michele Nampalli

This space is breath for my sensitivity. The poems come fully formed. I've known for quite some time now that my art is about receiving more than creation...its the most natural way I know to process my inner world. It started when I was 7.
