My condolences
Thoughts and prayers
They were patriots
They died for our country
Our freedoms
The lies we tell ourselves
When death has become nothing more
Than an abstract distraction
A blunt reaction
When you’re detached from reality
Some of you may die
So we may live long and grow rich
Long forgotten
Somewhere in the ditch
Encased in maggots
All systems rotting from within
