Full speed ahead

Poem

By Manuel C.Published about 10 hours ago 1 min read

Full speed ahead.

0-0-0

A rotting ship that leaks.

Listened to the side, mute.

The canvas on the wall screams.

Porthole broken, dim.

0-0-0

Who would want this future?

0-0-0

I bow my head with awe.

At the ancestors' sacred cry.

Heavy, I feel the duty.

The responsibility unlifted, icy.

0-0-0

Where shall I go to find support?

0-0-0

Maybe it's my fault that it leans?

Maybe I have put a stone in this?

Or does illusion lash the thought?

In front of this sorrowful sight?

0-0-0

It's my fault, I know it leans.

The birds told me in the morning.

0-0-0

Cry, my nightingale, cry.

My story now calls.

Hands wet with salt.

Might change the fate.

0-0-0

I cry too, I cry.

With strong eagle cries.

0-0-0

My hands grasp the planks.

Take the varnish gently.

A new helm I will set.

I will change everything

From end to end again.

0-0-0

My own story will not be lost.

0-0-0

Take, mother, the oil and pour.

Wick in the center, sturdy.

The sacred flame I will light.

To light up this world.

0-0-0

Give me, my God, patience and courage.
