Happy Halloween, Everyone!

Beware the Night

By Tim CarmichaelPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

Once upon a midnight eerie,

While the wind did sigh so dreary,

All the shadows danced and swayed,

In a night both grim and fey.

Pumpkins grinned with hollow eyes,

Underneath the moonlit skies;

Ghosts and goblins roamed the lane,

Singing softly, sweetly, “Hallow’s reign.”

From the crypts, a whisper came,

Calling softly each one’s name;

Yet fear not, mortal, fear not, friend,

For mirth and mischief have no end.

So lift your lantern, let it gleam,

And wander through this haunted dream;

With witches’ laughter in the air,

And black cats weaving everywhere.

On this night of spectral delight,

May your heart be brave, your soul be light;

For though the shadows twist and bend,

Happy Halloween, until the end.

    Love your take on this, what a great Halloween poem. It was raining here but now it’s nice and the little one are out. We average 350 ghouls and goblins every year.

    Awesome :) spooky atmosphere makes me nostalgic for Halloween as a kid. Just got back from taking my own trick or treating in the pouring rain. Didn’t have the crisp fall atmosphere ya hope for, but your poem does :)
