Into the Fire
A poem for my favorite vampires.

In rooms of gold and deep crimson,
I found you,
your fear, your sadness, your love as well.
Your attention - bright as the sun and hotter than any ring of Hell,
burned me, warmed me,
destroys me.
Your fire fuels me,
she consumes me,
and I let her.
Gladly,
and without fear,
I accept your sentimental inferno,
for an eternity,
and all that lies beyond.
I dreamt of companionship,
and then,
with a flash of silver and measured rage,
you appeared to me.
