An illness, mistaken as a warm embrace on a chilling night. A hatred so deep that the fumes of the fiery emotion seep into the eyes of the sick, leak down their esophagus, and twist every organ into a being with autonomy.
An illness so vile that the stomach starts to churn, the mouth starts to speak without thought, the hands reach for a hot stove, and the heart yearns for death.
An illness mistaken for a feeling, a lie mistaken for a truth, a punch mistaken for the light caress of a hand that cares for you, and a glance of pure and utter malice mistaken for the kindness one searches for but never finds.

Hello! My name is Jackie Nolan and I write poetry and fiction. Most of my work is a bit dark, however I will try to add the occasional feel-good poem.
