The Beatitudes!

Blessed are the souls who walk in humble light, 

For heaven opens wide to them in night. 

Blessed are the ones who weep in silent pain, 

For comfort comes like dawn after the rain.

Blessed are the meek who choose the softer way, 

For they shall hold the earth one peaceful day. 

Blessed those who thirst for all that's just and true, 

For righteousness will fill them through and through.

Blessed are the hearts that bend to offer grace, 

For mercy will return and warm their sadden face. 

Blessed are the pure whose thoughts are clear and bright, 

For they shall look on God with unveiled sight.

Blessed are the peacemakers, gentle in their stand, 

For they'll be called God's children in this land. 

Blessed those oppressed for choosing what is right, 

For heaven crowns their courage in the fight.

And blessed are you when hatred's arrows fly, 

When lies are cast and truth is pushed to die; 

Rejoice, lift up your gaze and do not bend,

For great are the gifts that wait for you, my friend.

For if you seek the place where I abide, 

Look for the broken ones the world always denied.

Among the lowly, trembling, cast‑aside

There is the map, the path, the living guide.

And you, who hear these words and understand, 

Are salt upon the earth in every single land.
