The Friend
A home where you can hide from the storms
Having a friend… is the most beautiful thing in the world.
He can lift you to the heights when you are down.
He gives you that smile that wipes away tears.
He is the one you need.
Your friend is a person always there for you.
He knows how to say both “good morning” and “good night”.
He is a person who loves you, who follows you like a shadow.
Oh yes… he is the shadow that not only follows you,
but also guides you.
A friend is someone before whom you can think aloud.
You don’t need to choose your words,
because he hears even the unspoken.
He is a home where you can hide from the storms outside.
With him, silences are comfortable.
The best thing that can happen to you
is to have someone who laughs with you,
who watches you when you are thoughtful,
who knows the right words when you are sick.
It is the love of human to human —
without pretense, without jealousy.
A friend is the greatest treasure you can have.

Beautiful. You capture the feeling and appreciation of having a close friend. I love the concept of having a shadow that follows and also guides.
"Friendship is a sacred thing, as you wrote very maturely and consciously in your poem. Someone who has suffered a lot—and I believe most people have experienced it—knows that a friend is a treasure. At the moment when you hurt, the moment when your knees touch the ground. I was moved, and I didn't intend to be. I didn't expect to be moved at the beginning. Sorry. Friendship is not a prayer. I stop here, because it wakes up memories."
