Why?

So...

What makes you write?

What pushes your hand to take the pen

- Or your phone in these modern times -

And start sharing your voice for the world to see?

What forces your will?

Why you feel the need to scream to the void

- Sometimes with no echo to prove your point -

And put in the public what stayed so long inside of you?

*

I'll say...

That if you don't write, your inner world collapse.

You have the need to express without regress,

- To combine your sounds with your feet in the ground -

While you stamp your posture and say: "here is my broken soul.

Here are my heart and my doltish mind for you to take

Feel my pain and share my doubts on my past mistakes

- Hear what I have to say and do whatever you need to do -

But please, please, hear me out first, and then condemn me after that".

*

Why?...

Why do I need to explain myself to others?

Why do you have to hear a reason to take in what I have to say?

- Aren't we allowed to feel and to say what's burning us from inside? -

Aren't we granted freedom to suffer, and tell the world how we handled it?

I think that's why.

I believe that words matter the most when we put ourselves out to roast

- We just can't stay silent when we see fit to protect our needs -

We just can't pull the brake on the push and stay numb for Life to exist.

*

So, there it is...

We can't stop what's boiling our guts

We have a need to push our hand and take the pen

- Or our phones in these modern times -

As we put in words what our mind conceives as the reality of the world.

But not just our world or what surround us and give us hope

But rather everything else we see, hear, get, and feel for others like Us

-We share the same goals, under the same controls by the same trolls-

And we choose to express without regress, even under pain and distress.

*

We choose...

That's the key I have been looking for so long

We write because others can't do it without a fear for feeling seen.

- We write because we have to fill the void with a positive vibe -

Or maybe we just have a mind that will explode if we don't write.

We choose to express in front of others what's eating our rotting souls

We choose to be the voice for those whose voice can't be heard

- We choose when others can't choose by themselves -

We had an option to stay apart, and we saw that as a broken plan.

*

So...

What makes you write?

What pushes your feet to take the stage

- Or your computer's screen in these modern times -

And start opening your mind for the world to read?

Have you ever wondered why you do it?

Why you feel the need to talk to the void

- Sometimes with no echo to prove your point -

And take out to the open what stayed so deep inside of you?

*

But you did it...

That was a great deal, and can't say enough how much I like it so far

I can't describe the vibe this place takes when your voice shares your mind

- This coming from somebody who's supposed to excels in describing -

And how I deeply hope you feel relieved when it's all good and done.

Keep us hypnotized and walking around while we wait for your next post

Keep the fight up and use your will to stay firm against the final Boss

- We just can't stay silent when we see fit to protect our needs -

We need to share...

We could be silent...

But we choose to speak.

These are all golden thoughts, Alex. I agree with all of them, but especially with this one: "We write because we have to fill the void with a positive vibe." I often write after storms, because some storms are just indescribable. Thank you for this. I think it's a truly important poem for all writers here and everywhere. Well done!
