Women, Every Day

To all who couldn't be here today, all who fought for today, all that survived today, and all that continue on tomorrow.

Do you know how much blood we shed

Involuntarily,

grief, loss, life,

by the ounces.

Or how much blood pours out of us,

Screams unheard,

ignored, silenced, disregarded,

voices buried under the rubble and bigotry.

Do you know how our anatomy has molded itself into the cracks

Systemically,

education, health, the workplace

each space preaching protection while practicing violence.

But do you know how resilient we are?

Unbreakable,

strong, capable, unstoppable,

we tear down every wall you try to build over us.

And do you know how much blood you spill?

We do.

We clean it up.

We give life back.

And rebuild what you've destroyed.
