The race against time. Top Story - February 2025.
A nostalgic wave hits me as I glance down at the book clutched tightly in my grasp⦠āA Wrinkle in Timeā. A kaleidoscope of colour swirls dizzily around me⦠or am I spinning inside a massive paint pot of rainbow hues? Magenta mixes with turquoise and liquid gold. Each strand of coloured āthreadā unspooling⦠playfully looping around its neighbour, winding around me. The vertiginous sight is startling and exhilarating. Tingling āpins and needlesā prick my extremities⦠fingers and toes twitch. Tinkling notes of a glockenspiel gently dance around me⦠a joyous anthem, unknown but somehow familiar.

Celebrating⦠Coconut Cake!
āYou'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Partiesā is an outrageous lie! Whilst I liked the 1980ās quirky song by Jona Lewie ā and I love food ā I loathe cooking! Parties = People. When push comes to shove, I will always choose fraternising over food. You might find me in the kitchen at some parties, chatting as I roll up my sleeves to splash around in the sink. Iām never alone and definitely not hiding out in the kitchen! Abhorrent thought!

The point of roses
Flowers are a waste of time. You canāt eat them⦠or so my dad vowed and declared most of his life. His bugle shaped Gramma Pumpkins grew crazily on his woodpile. Mum, the Culinary Queen added sultanas and nuts to transform them into tasty, sweet pies for our dessert bowls. For years, flowers were grown by Mum⦠including vibrant nasturtiums (edible ābread and butterā flowers).

A Snowy Adventureā¦
Sunshine Coast⦠here we come! Dreams of shimmering golden sands were set to become reality before the sun dipped below the azure horizon once more. Frothy white capped waves restlessly rolled back and forth... waiting to embrace me ever so soon. Memories of delectable fried rice and bubble tea tantalised us. Nothing could stop us⦠weād be there in time for lunch.

The trio⦠Reading, wRiting and Running!
I love New Yearās Resolutions! They amaze and inspire me⦠Iām just not as fond of making and keeping any myself. Theyāre such hard work! Every time Iāve tried to meet them, I fail! I never make it beyond the first month, week or even day.
