The Girl Next Door
When Michelle and her family moved into the old white house on Country Meadow Lane, she didn’t expect much excitement. Her parents were thrilled about the quiet neighborhood and had gotten a hell of a deal on their beautiful new home, but Michelle was annoyed. She didn’t want to be the new kid. She didn’t want to go through the awkward process of making new friends. She was lonely.

Sharing The Spotlight. Top Story - November 2025.
Welcome to part two of my series, "Sharing the Spotlight"! If you're new here, I decided to write this series to give other writers a little bit more of a spotlight (not that mine is very big in the first place, but that doesn't matter.)

Sharing The Spotlight
I have been trying to do my part as far as interacting with other creators here on Vocal. In the past, I've written a few reviews of certain works. This time, I wanted to try and take some time to share pieces that didn't have any hearts or comments on them (at the time I found them anyways).

Shut up Sara. Runner-Up in Maps of the Self Challenge. Content Warning.
I used to be funny. I mean, really funny. Before the world chewed me up and spit me out, I was the class clown. The comedic relief. If you were having a bad day, I was the one cracking a little jokey-joke to lift the mood. I could always put a smile on someone’s face. They hated it sometimes, because some people just want to be sad. But not when I was around.
