Is the titanic still alive out there???
The Titanic is slowly succumbing to pressure and seawater, with parts of the promenade deck already collapsed, Captain Smith's bathtub filled with debris, and the officer quarter door starting to disintegrate. The bow is still holding on, buried 60 ft into the mud just like 25 years ago, but it will also face an inevitable fate one day. Certain structures on the ship could last much longer, maybe for hundreds of years, for example the thick boilers and reciprocating engines, but lighter elements like railings and wood are doomed. The Titanic is being eaten away by its own specific type of bacteria called Honus Titanic, discovered in rusticles that resemble icicles. These little guys slowly eat away at the steel surfaces, causing mounds of rust to form, which then dissolve into fine powder. Add the immense water pressure, super cold temperatures, and salt, and you have the fast decay.
