A Tennis Star Is Killed By Her Father After He Is Taunted By Locals
A young girl's dream is cut short...

Born on 23rd March 2000 in Gurugram - a city just southwest of New Delhi, Radhika Yadav grew up surrounded by the fast-developing energy of the region. From an early age, she showed a keen interest in tennis, spending countless hours on the court refining her game.
As she entered adolescence, that early curiosity evolved into a deep passion for the sport. Her dedication and natural talent quickly became evident, and before long she began competing in professional tournaments. Through consistent performance and determination, Radhika rose through the ranks, eventually achieving an international ranking of 113.

Her parents, Manju and Deepak, were initially very supportive of their daughter’s ambitions and encouraged her dedication to tennis.
However, in early 2024, Radhika suffered a shoulder injury that forced her to put her promising career on hold. Although she could no longer compete professionally, she remained deeply connected to the sport. Determined not to give up on tennis entirely, Radhika set her sights on coaching, hoping to share her knowledge and inspire young girls who dreamed of following a similar path.

Her father, Deepak, was considered a wealthy man, earning around ₹15–17 lakh per month from his property business. Eager to support his daughter in any way he could, he used his resources to establish a tennis academy where Radhika could coach young players and remain closely involved with the sport she loved.
However, the venture soon drew unwanted attention. Spiteful remarks and harsh gossip from some locals began to circulate, creating a tense atmosphere around the academy—one that would eventually have troubling consequences.

In early 2025, Deepak began receiving cruel taunts from neighbours and other locals who mocked him for supporting his daughter’s ambitions. Some accused him of living off her income and even claimed that he was using her earnings to pay for the family home.
In the weeks that followed, the constant remarks began to take a toll on him. Deepak slipped into a period of depression, increasingly troubled and ashamed by the way members of his community were portraying him. Feeling overwhelmed by the gossip and pressure, he eventually asked Radhika to shut down the academy. However, she refused, determined to continue coaching and pursuing the goals she had set for herself.

Radhika's success hurt her father's pride and his daughter's refusal to cease playing tennis only worsened his state of mind.
This was when he decided that he needed to stop his daughter from winning at life and proving more successful than he was. He was going to kill her.

On the morning of 10th July 2025, 25 year old Radhika was cooking breakfast inside the kitchen of her family home when her father approached her from behind with a handgun.
Without a second of hesitation, Deepak fired four bullets into his daughter, ending her life. A post mortem examination would later reveal that three of these bullets entered her back whilst one hit her shoulder.
Her mother Manju was also present inside the home but would later refuse to give a statement to police.

When Deepak was arrested, he gave a full confession to the police. He admitted that he had planned his daughter’s murder in advance and had deliberately sent his son out to buy milk so he would be away from the house while the attack was carried out.

Loved ones expressed profound shock at Deepak’s actions, noting that he had invested heavily in his daughter’s career over the years.
Speaking to reporters, Deepak’s older brother, Vijay, described how Deepak was said to have deeply regretted what he had done:

Radhika Yadav was cremated the day after her murder, and a memorial service was held in her native village of Wazirabad. Over 150 mourners gathered to pay their respects to the promising young woman whose life and potential were tragically cut short.

Close friends of the family have noted that Deepak had been proud of his daughter, but was deeply troubled by the cruel remarks and gossip from others.
Deepak remains in prison, where he has admitted that he believes he should be "hanged" for what he did to Radhika. His final sentence has yet to be announced.
