When it comes to shy guys, it's actually pretty hard to tell if they like you or not, because they're just so quiet! They're not like most guys who are very outgoing, loud, and straightforward if they like someone. But I have to admit, shy guys are pretty cute. You can just tell how innocent and caring they are... not so much innocent (sometimes), but they certainly do care for those they love. Even though they don't say much, they hold so many thoughts and secrets that you would never believe. After talking to a shy guy for a while, you might leave thinking he's actually not that shy.

I’m so old that I started blind dating before match.com existed. I’m not sure if blind dating is a verb but the other variations — blindly dating or dating blind — sounded worse. I used newspaper ads and a matchmaking service to try and meet my future husband. Even though I learned pretty quickly that describing oneself with brown hair and blue eyes in written form is no match for a photo, I kept doing it, hoping my wealthy, good looking, funny, preferably Jewish prince would appear.

The Beginning. Female singledom—definitely not a word, but I'm going with it. Currently in London the percentage of single, unattached human beings apparently stands at 51%. That means that at least half of women in the city are single and I am one of those statistics. Technically a single entity for 9 years and counting, I haven't quite given up on true love yet; sometimes I still even put myself out there. I've tried every trick and app in the symbolic book (literal app store) and a fair few online dating services too. Please don't mistake this for desperation; this is just what a lonely twenty-something girl looks like. I've got to be honest; it's a wild country out there in the big city and not exactly what I signed up for just because I have female reproductive organs. It’s hard to catch a break out there and when you do it’s even harder to keep a hold on it.
