Positive Affirmations for People Who Use Social Media A Lot
Don't get me wrong, I genuinely believe social media has in many ways been a great thing for mankind. People can share information at the touch of a button like never before, and keep in touch with family and friends in far away corners of the world. Family and friends that, without the availability of social media, they would have completely lost touch with many years ago.

The Deceptiveness of an Image
Its 9:00 AM, you wake up, and immediately reach for your phone, scrolling through your social media: your Facebook, your Snapchat or your Instagram, as you do. Scanning through your news feed, you’re reading posts from celebrities or models, pausing to peruse it, envying their extravagant lifestyle. You come across a picture of said celebrity: nicely dressed, well posed, and standing in the middle of a walkway, in Milan or Rome, or even Fashion Week in NYC. Or how about, when you see the same person next to their Maybach, and during that moment it’s as if someone took the perfect snap shot of that fleeting moment. While you’re sitting there on your bed and you think to yourself “Wow, why can’t that be me? Why can’t I have a picture perfect life where people will take random pictures of me in public?” Does this story sound familiar to you?

Social Media
I was watching the news today and they were discussing with some of the models from Instagram about how they became Instagram models. They were GORGEOUS! They were explaining how they make money and how they bare just enough skin to be sexy and intice their followers to follow them. This not only increases the amount of revenue they can earn but it increases the number of people following them on Instagram. They were up in the millions! Mind you most of their followers were men. I was really intrigued by this concept. They were not only beautiful women, but they also had brains and a plan to continue to be successful on Instagram. I was impressed. But I also became sadden. I became bothered not because these women are beautiful and have a huge following but I was saddened and concerned about what this particular perception of beauty is doing to our society today. For the men and women. Everyone cannot be a Kardashian. We all cannot look like these beautiful Instagram followers. Let's not leave out the male models on Instagram as well, we all can't all be Idris Elba. So how can we educate our society and upcoming youth on how to build confidence and be happy outside the gram and other social media sites? How can we teach them to be happy in their skin even if they don't look like these Instagram models? You are not social media.

Heroes and Villains
Princesses and fairy tales As children, many of us aspired to be a princess when we grew up; we aspired to be beautiful, meet our prince, get married, and live Happily Ever After. This dream involved lots of ball gowns, castles, fancy parties and of being adored by all because of the fair and just way we behaved.

I Deleted My Instagram
Originally posted to my blog. For those who don’t know (You couldn’t because I deleted Instagram!), I used to be ALLL OVER IG. I would probably spend a total of about 3 hours on Instagram daily—no joke. Between scrolling mindlessly through my feed to tapping through IG Stories, I can’t believe how much time I wasted literally doing nothing productive.

For the People Who Feel Like They're Missing Out
It's that time of the year. The time of the year in which everyone is venturing out from their homes, at last breaking free from winter's spell. The sun is out, the snow is melting, and everyone is ready for the summer to finally make an appearance.

How to Digitally Detox. Top Story - March 2019.
If I told you that you would lose all electricity and access to the internet for 24 hours, how would you feel? If you’re anything like me, your heart skips a tiny beat. But what if I miss an important work email? What if something bad happens and I need to call for help? What if I can’t share the experience on social media?

I Did a Digital Detox—and It Was Nothing Like I Expected
Now, I will start off by saying this wasn’t planned at all. I forgot my phone in my friends car on my way to catch the train. I had two minutes to decide whether I go back and try to catch her (and potentially miss this train which, would make me wait 15 minutes for the next one) OR just suck it up and go the whole day phone-less. I chose the latter.
