Just Because

You're You

I like you just because you're you.

We've weathered some storms

And held out for sunny days.

First, the rain - then the rainbow.

You've been by my side through thick and thin.

Thick-headed comments, thin wallets.

Thick snow, thinly veiled compliments.

*

I like you just because you're you.

You share with me.

Anything you own and anything on your mind.

You also share my stuff and listen to me.

You're kind and loving.

Our intimacy helps me feel wanted

And makes me want you all the more.

I like you

Just because.

This is beautiful and feels so grounded. Not some mushy nonsense you might get in a romantic poem. Real love. Well done, Julie
