There's Always Time to Write
This article is an exploration of the concept I touched on in the poem, I Write Everywhere. But it also came from a realization I had one day when writing one particularly lengthy comment on Facebook. Two things came from this comment. First, was “wow” how long is this comment. It ended up being 300 plus words. The second was, well if I have time to sit and write a 300 plus word comment, I have time to write 300 or more words a day towards finishing a story, or writing some poems. So, then, what was I doing with my time? Clearly nothing as productive as I could be. So what did this mean to me? It meant that it was time for me to take my own advice. And that’s what I started to do.

The Good Book
Introduction Last week I bought an album at The Beehive in Alnwick, "The Good Book" by Melanie Safka When I buy vinyl I like them to be special. These days it seems to be coloured vinyl or a picture disc and that is it, which is not very interesting at all.

Write-a-witch awards
Of all the characters I have ever loved from film, TV, book, stage, or song, some of my favorites have been witches. Kind witches like Glinda or her nemesis the Wicked Witch of the West. From everyday witches like Samantha from Bewitched to the Wayward Sisters of Macbeth. Good witches, bad witches, literary witches or real witches, witches and witchery in fiction fascinate me. I have even ventured to offer my own interpretations of what it is to be a witch. I have added some links below.

Some of the weirdest writing prompts I found today
When I'm feeling uninspired and freewriting leads to nothing but repeated "the, the, the, the . . ." on the page, I turn to writing prompts. This is a common approach for writers, but every time I do this, I find myself disappointed with the prompts I flip or scroll through.

How do (I) Write?. Top Story - September 2023.
I read Mackenzie Davis's "How do YOU write?" and the questions asked in that text were very interesting for me. I think about writing a lot, and I think about how I'm going to write my next piece a lot. So the answer, for me, is haphazardly.

An El Niño winter is coming. Here’s what that could mean for the US
Introduction After several years of relative calm, an El Niño winter is on the horizon, promising significant impacts on the weather during the coldest months of the year. El Niño, one of the phases of the El Niño Southern Oscillation, is characterized by warmer-than-normal ocean temperatures in the equatorial Pacific Ocean. This natural phenomenon has far-reaching effects on global weather patterns. The 2023 El Niño, which began in June and is expected to persist into early spring, is forecasted to be strong, marking a departure from the recent La Niña-dominated winters. As winter approaches, let's delve into what El Niño means for the United States and how it may reshape our winter climate.
