It was a symbol of unity for the oppressed, the proletariat, and the marginalized, pushing back against the bourgeoisie’s grip on society. However, it appears that the tables have turned; “woke” ideology, once an expression of awareness of social injustice, has transformed into a bourgeois identitarian movement, betraying its foundation.
