The Hunt
Chet had been preparing to take his shot for several minutes, stalking the deer with his eyes. He held up his rifle, taking great care that the weapon was aimed directly at its intended target. When he moved, he did so slightly, making sure that the deer was always at the end of his bullet's trajectory. Chet was a skilled hunter, and he knew what he needed to do to make sure that his shot was going to hit its mark. When he finally felt confident that he was going to hit the animal, he out his finger on the trigger and started to squeeze.

George MacDonald, "Lilith's Saga"
I have already talked about “At the back of the North Wind”, by the Scottish George MacDonald, written in 1871, which has Death as its protagonist. The saga of Lilith, composed around 1895 and declined in the three novels “Beyond the Mirror”, “Lilith” and “The House of Regret”, takes up the figure of the female demon associated with the wind. The protagonist of the trilogy is Lilith, from the Akkadian Lil-itu, lady of the air, a creature connected to the storm and the cat. In Mesopotamian culture, Lilith was a demon, whom the Jews borrowed during the Babylonian captivity and turned into Adam’s first wife, repudiated for refusing to obey her husband. It has always had negative characteristics, of a nocturnal, witchy, adulterous and lustful feminine. In the nineteenth century, however, with female emancipation, it comes to represent the strong woman who no longer submits to man, and it is reevaluated by modern neo-pagan cults and assimilated to the Great Mother.

What lurks within the darkness of my life.
My name is Joshua i live my life in the darkness of the night hiding behind closed doors sealed within the shadows as i walk the lonely streets at night i hear no sounds just silence emptiness nothingness suddenly i hear a noise so I hide behind a tree to see if it’s something that i might need to be worried about as the sound gets closer and closer i begin to see the shadow of a figure brush the surface of the light shining down from the street light the next few minutes I get the urge to suddenly jump out and surprise the person of which has been casting the shadow of what I have been seeing my stomach begins to growl a sharp pain comes over me and I suddenly get the thirst for something that I’ve never had the thirst for before i grab ahold of the person as if i am in a trance latching on to the person I open my mouth widely and my k 9 teeth begin to grow longer i then bite the person with all of my might my grip keeps gripping harder as the blood runs down my lips dripping slowly on the ground I let go of the person only to find that it was only my imagination the thing that I have been seeing was only just an illusion created by my very mind I begin thinking to myself what has been coming over me what is causing my mind to play tricks on me is this really what lurks behind my mind can I fix this what should I do but then I realize my problems and things that go on within my life are caused the my very own way of thinking and the negativity of which I put out into the world this really must be what lurks within the darkness of my life as the time goes on the night passes by and I continue walking down these empty streets thinking to myself will I ever find somewhere I belong I come across a store walking closely up to the store window I see vampire merchandise so I then enter into the store thinking of what I should buy but nothing comes to mind suddenly I lose consciousness and fall into a deep slumber dreaming of a dark shadow with blood red eyes the shadow suddenly shifts into what looks like a person as the shadow begins to take it’s shape a face suddenly appears as I look closely the face resembles me as I look at myself reflecting in a mirror the more I look the face begins to change suddenly it’s shifts into a fowl hideous creature of which I cannot describe then suddenly I regain consciousness only to find that the store has been badly torn apart distorted all of the merchandise badly damaged i then look on the ground only to find the store clerk lying on the ground in a puddle of blood I take a look at my hands to see them covered in blood I begin running out the store screaming for help but no one is listening so I run home trying to escape from this horrible nightmare of which I am experiencing but the more I try to run the more it seems as if I am neither running nor moving at all so I try to speak but nothing comes out as if I suddenly lost the ability to speak then suddenly i hear a growl I begin to wonder where it was coming from but then I realize that it was coming from me suddenly I feel a pain coming from within my heart but then I realize that I have been shot as I fall to the ground I begin to say that this is not the end nor will it ever be then I lose consciousness I wake up the next day only to find that this was all a dream.

I Never Saw a Beach Sunrise
I never saw the Sun rise looking out onto the horizon, while sitting in the warm sands of a beach. I was always told they were beautiful, just like me. Momma always told me that. Although sweet, momma was the triggered type. Then again, she was always independent, even before I was born; so I’ve been told. I guess it never really occurred to me how much effort she put into taking care of me. She cared a lot about my well-being. She was extra attentive towards that. She always told me “my health was most important”, even more important than hers. I guess it was due to my condition.

First Vacation
Buzz. buz- Nadji snatched his phone off of the nightstand and shut the 4 am. alarm off, without ever taking his eyes away from the window. There was an urge in the pit of his stomach to open it but he sat frozen on his bed by the glare of something floating just on the other side of the glass. The snow howling outside blew in all directions, leaving only a silhouette of the thing visible. Two orbs that looked like they could be eyees faintly glowed against the storm where eyes should of been. Eyes that that same pit in his stomach told him that he should remember. He started to wonder if this thing has been following him aaround but the moment that he formed the thought, the storm around the thing whipped into a frenzy. He stared in disbelief and the storm slowed. The dull lights flickered back and forth for a few seconds. He felt a shiver rise up his spine and and the rest of his nerves protested. The orbs glowed just a tid bit brighter right before the massive frame faded in the storm. The howling storm felt it’s absence, and the world outside slowed to a crawl, almost like it was letting an anxiety attack finally pass. Nadji finally took a breath when the last of the pale blue light dissapatted from his walls. He slowly walked over and could almost feel the blistering cold on the other side. Stopping close enough to see his breath fog up the glass and he put his fingers under the hinge to lift and at the moment his . . .

The End.
After the dinosaurs, and far after evolution had taken its course, humanity was a small, infantile race staring at the rest of the universe; dumbly, in awe. A few centuries had passed, and in that time, humans had discovered that the planets and stars held sway over how days passed, or how the season changed. Soon after, there we new inventions; telescopes, calendars, sun dials, and so forth were brought into existence. After a millennium had passed, exploration began; satellites, space rovers, and many other things came into existence as a result of technology. We had been able to send a man to the moon, and astronauts out into space for long periods of time, and were in the process of developing space travel for general admittance, when they came.

I, The Blood Sucker
I, The Blood Sucker In the beginning, was the word, but the word was not God, this word was Blood Sucker and the Blood Sucker was not with God. What, it was and where from, was not known. I preyed on the human species. There were no more than I, only one. I knew how to control the needs and how to maintain a viable breeding stock of food. I never took too much and caused extinction, too many times.
